Airman by Eoin Colfer is one of the best books that the Young Adult Librarian has read recently. After being falsely accused of treason, Conor Broekart serves a harsh sentence at a diamond mine. He plots a daring escape using his knowledge of flying machines.
The book reminded me of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Both books have a strong main character who escapes from a prison and must decide how much he will let the experience change him.
